hi, well i have a gti turbo & my bestmate drives a cupra r, the cupra has the ko4 as standard and is 210bhp on his as standard, the differnce is awsome so i would say that 1, and i think its a direct fit! i am also thinking of a turbo upgrade and that is what i would go for, there was a brand new one on ebay for £550, i know the cupra comes standard with 2 intercoolers and gti's only 1 so might need to uprate the intercooler??? but a chip would prob be a def and also uprating the brakes! So an expensive job but iwould say worth it! Whats your Gti running at the mo?? any other mods??

k04 is not a direct fit to the mk4 turbo ... it needs manifold ,custom downpipe , oil&coolant lines,injectors,4bar fr .turbo inlet pipe . movin on to the intercooler the standard gti is smic so it needs to upgrade to fmic .... and an expense labour .

I taje you have yours chipped already as this is obviously the quickest and easiest way to extract some extra power.  KO3s can go upto around 210 as does the K03 I think (might not be quite as good top end with it being smaller), K04 approx 265bhp.

k03s with the right mod can go up to around 250 bhp mark ...... for an extra 10-20bhp difference on the k04 is not really worth it cuz i will cost u alot of money to buy parts and labour ....

if u got k03 then i would upgrade to k03s ...... the k03s will hold boost longer than k03 .......
