i had no doubt from the beginning that E30 was not a limited edition.
it is limited only by date of Mk6 production start, maybe

You know what'll happen though don't you :undecided:

This is the ED30 version II, it has a different retainer spring in the rear XXX and so isn't the same at all your honour!

The fact that it is 99.999999999999999999999% the same would probably mean jack sh!t

Ah, the 'European Treaty is not the Constitution' defence!

I don't think it worked for Gordon Brown

i personally think the standard gti has been replaced with the ED30. Who buys the standard these days????

If more people are buying the ED30 over the standard GTI, won't that make the standard GTI more 'exclusive'?

When picking up my new ED30 for the dealers the other day they informed me that Volkswagen have started taking orders again for the ED30 due to the popularity of the car, to be honest I think it never stopped. What happened to the 1500 units only coming to the UK?? They'll be like bloody Vectra's soon!!

Hi guys, been checking out the site for some time now and it’s great news that the Ed 30 is back on sale. Checked with my dealers today and it’s all true they’re available to order (however only alloted 1 per month).
I’ve been running around in a 4-motion V6 now for 6+ years and love it... however it’s time to change.

Need to check out the black german rims (Detroits/Rockinghams) as they look ace especially on a white car.
Take it easy... Hotrod

I didnt buy it for this reason, i just prefered the GTi, but it does seem like everyone feels they have to have the ED30 and as such the standard un-colour coded GTi's could end up being rarer.

It no longer states on the VW website either that the Edition 30 is to be limited to 1500 model.....

Personally, I don't care which version of the GTI is the rarest - They are ALL great cars. You could argue that a modded GTI is the rarest of all because it's totally unique

Shed a tear for all those speculators who slammed down deposits on the E46 M3 CSL, very very limited rumours of only 100 for the UK, then BM went and made a car for every deposit!! That came to 422 for the UK........expensive mistake.

At least ED30 owners are not nursing those losses........who last got a decent residual?

Enjoy the cars for what they are, then gulp at trade in time......we never win!
