i personally think the standard gti has been replaced with the ED30. Who buys the standard these days?
Yeah I totally agree with you there....when you can get fully discounted UK spec imports it is hardly a limited Special Edition anymore.
Having owned both a standard and now an ED30 I can honestly say that the ED30 engine is, and sounds, so much "gruntier".
I'm not surprised it is achieving 244bhp on rolling roads as standard...well worth the extra £ alone IMO.
