More Starting Troubles

Hey Y’all
I got more starting troubles.
Here’s original thread.
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=69598.0
Like the post says after the garage did whatever they did to the throttle body, if indeed they did do anything to the throttle body. I had the oil, filters and plugs changed. 4 days later and here we are again, difficult starting from cold. Also this morning I had 2 warning lights illuminated. One being the ESP light on the dash (the ESP was on at this time) and the exhaust light which I’m lead to believe is a general error light. Is it something to do with the MAF sensor not working correctly.
I presume I need a lead to a laptop to read these codes. Where might the best place to get said lead?
Cheers

I belive the best place to get them from is the offical website (
http://www.ross-tech.com/index.html
) as the ones on ebay can be a bit dodgey. You will also need VAGCOM. I think the free version allows you to read and reset error codes, not too sure. Someone please confirm
Your best place to start is getting these error codes and then taking it from there. Sounds like your having a bit of a mare with your car mate

Cheers for the link mate. Looks like ill be needing one. Just hope i havent bought a knacker as cant really afford to change. Looks like the ESP light has now gone out and is back to normal but the other still remains.

I dont have ESP on mine so I might well be talking out my arse here, but I thought that the light is either always on or off (fooking obviously) but it either means the ESP is on or off and not actually a problem.

I have no idea, but try ringing 0208 681 0208 and ask for Reuben, he may have an answer for you!

You are partly correct.
When the ESP is on the light on the dash is off
When it is active the light flashes
When it is off the light is on
This morning the light was on when the ESP was on. I tried pressing the button incase it had been accidently switched off but the light wouldnt go out.
@ashmond
Is that number for the ESP or the starting troubles?
Cheers Fellas
