im running a 2ltre b/e, but shhh!
hasnt been a problem, straight outta a mk3 and straight into the mk2... i say straight... 700£ machining bill on the b/e and had everything skimmed and new seals etc etc, wasnt cheap... either way its fooked now and i want a new engine!
the chap i bought it from had all the work done, but i think the bottom end bearing (if thats what its commonly called) is knocking, and sounds really pants, but performance is still well above a standard mk2 8v digi.
if you get the mk3 block its taller so you may have to chap a small bit off the bottom of your bonnet where the throttle body fouls it..i just smashed the bonnet with a hammer and it dont foul no more
