Only you can find the best place for your tweeters....

Check my post on the subject amongst that lot.  From your options above, the best in my opinion would be at the base of the A pillars, or maybe a little higher.  Whatever sounds best....

is it a mk2 golf then??
me cousin had 2 of em...and wel..there were tweeters alredy mounted in one v em...but appeared as if they were mounted afterwards by the previous owners. although the door cards on the mk2 appear like there is no space to mount things behind near the top..theres enuf room to route cable through if you pull the panel away temporarily..make a hole n jus stick/screw a tweeter externally onto the door....may sound bodge but it looks ok. other way is to fabricate your own tweeter housing perhaps?

in the event of puttin it on the door..u'l have to run the wiring neatly through the door hinge area or the loom which connects any other electrics from the door (if applicable)

Why pay big bucks when you can do it yourself???

don't run em from the B pillar... all you'll hear is a tinny noise in your ear... need to be mounted in the door at the top or next to the dash

You want them as far in front of you as you can get them, as far to the sides too.

my mk4 came with them fitted in the wing mirror covers so i mounted them on my mk 2 there but you cant fit them flush as no room behind cover the other plase is the grills on the dash but was told the sound would be lost out the windscreen

As Dublsug said, under the original speaker grills in your dash, that's the absolute best place.

It bounces off the windscreen. Mine sound fine there in the dash!
