Carbonio Intake on ED30
« on: 29 December 2007, 15:21 »
Just been outside freezin me b*lls off fitting the Carbonio intake and filter to the ED30, and it looks the b*ll*cks, not sure about any noticeable difference in performance although the pick-up does seem crisper, the weathers not really up to performance testing.
What I can say is that engine cover is a pain in the backside to remove and refit, when I remove it I'm always scared I'm gonna break something you have to pull it that hard to shift it, and then lining all the grommets up when you push it back on is tricky, specially when your loosing any patience you had cos you fingers are numb with cold

Interesting that Stan says he actually lost 4bhp.

I wish I had managed to get an inbetween RR now  - with the remap done, but before and after the Carbonio.

Having said that 4bhp loss is nothing when balancing it against looks. The standard intake looks
The Carbonio looks

Cmon Hurdy , yeah it looks supreme , yes I want one.
But if it does loose hp then I dont care how good it looks!
Whether thats real hp or varied rr loss hp who knows.
Time to trawl web for dyno plots me thinks...

No worries pal, I wasn't gettin on my high horse, I'm not sure about the results from the intake yet either, although I will say I've seen 6hp difference between back to back runs on the rollers with no changes to the car what so ever so 4hp isn't much either way.
