Mk4 golf with Corrado VR6 engine in rear and Golf VR6 engine in from, both Turbo charged and linked to a 4wd system ... so 190bhp on rear wheels and 174bhp on front wheels (and plus whatever exytra the turbo gives the engines) ... and an exhaust, induction and other bits

Or, Dubsports dark green Mk1 Golf GTI with summet like a  400bhp engine in it and Corvette size wheels lol ...

I think the r32 is the fastest golf, the g60 16v is probably second.
I doubt the superchargers lasted long cos they don't like high revving engines

I finally drove a 16v mk2 today and I can truely say they are miles better to drive than the trusty 8v! to anyone that says the 16v has nothing below 4000 rpm is tlaking out their ass! it was really nice through out the rev range and had buckets of power and torque towards the redline

still no turbo whistle and dump valve though

Standard wise, i would say that the 150 Diesel Gti is the quickest to 60 of all the Gti wearing badges,

If you look at the test figures that Diesl car magazine got out of a standard 150 it was 7.3 seconds to 60.  Don't forget most of these run as standard 165 and not the 150 VW quote. But off the mark the diesel is quicker than the 180 Gtti, but the petrol will overtake further up the speedo.

It's true tho ... its one of the quickest GTI's ... its quicker than the mk2 16v GTI, mk3 16v GTI ... only the 180bhp mk4 is quicker .. if u go by VW quotes and figures.
