oo can def tell the fruity tone once it gets higher up the range :-)

also raises the issue that if you are buying a 2nd hand ED30 (or GTI for that matter) to look for signs of tuning parts having been removed!
I have no idea how you would do that for a remap though , apart from the usual worn tyres etc

Hopefully milltek will have some dyno plots soon too.

You would probably not notice to be honest. Tyres would be no giveaway. A connecting slip over the exhaust, yes. A map - well unless it is left on the car - probably not. I had a switchable map on my last car and switched it off come trade in time. I still have the box in my house to reactivate it!

Anyone thinking of some mods for 2008 and if so, what?

I've just ordered the Full Milltek syatem and the Forge DV  so hopefully I'll get something approaching 300bhp  or even over :undecided:

First of all is getting my ed30, the wait is almost over now I am expecting delivery in a couple of weeks. I have had so many cases of (I Wish I Had It Know!!!). There was a guy on the motorway this morning in an r32, I was in my mums Gt Sport 140, he kept letting me get close and then booting it leaving me for dead! I thought to myself, I wonder what would have happened if I had the ed30.

Anyway moving on from that mods. First Im gonna run her in, then APR intercooler, Carbonio Intake, full Milltek System and an APR switcheable map. That should get me smiling a bit

I think the eibach coilovers and ARB's are also on the cards, plus maybe some brakes, I fancy the ECS stage 5 kit front and rear and maybe some 19inch BBS Ck's in anthracite

Looking at that list there I got a bit carried away, these are the mods for 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and so on!! It will cost a fortune!!

ECS stage 5 front AND rear. Bl00dy hell mate, you planning on competition spec or something

Those brakes are lifted off the front of a 2.3ton Cayenne and only have them on the front. Realistically it would be a rare occasion when you needed to use the extra power of just the front brakes let alone the rears.

Oettinger intercooler is bigger than APR intercooler mate and remarkably similar to VAG's own intercooler for the S3

I find that the R32 brakes on the Cupra are plenty powerful enough to stop my chariot on the road.

I dont know much about oettinger, I have only heard good things about APR and surely the oettinger one cant be that much bigger. I have got the discs, carriers, calipers off a MK5 R32 front and rear in my garage, they have been powdercoated red too, I got them for my old car but they never got put on. Does anyone know if these would fit on the ed30?? It would save me a lot of money.

They are standard fit on the MK2 Leon Cupra so they should fit no problem

I heard that the S3 uses 4 pots rather than the R32 brakes though.

Would the R32 brakes be an improvement on the standard ed30 brakes and capable of handling 300 bhp ?? I dont know much about them apart from the discs being absolutely huge!

The discs are bigger in diameter and width and are designed to stop a heavier car so there would be an improvement in stopping power
