Which system are you lads opting for? 3" downpipe or 2.75" downpipe?
My 11bhp gain figure comes from my own test - its not Millteks claim. Only other difference on the car was a carbonio with the Milltek.
I am going to see how the standard dv fairs with time before I decide what I am to do with it.
bigger isnt always better ! Which do you recommend? dont want to slow gas flow too much which can happen if you follow the 'bigger is better' rule. Although for a K04 turbo I reckon 3" would be better but no concrete evidence to follow as yet
would expect bigger gains with a remap tbh , as std I guess the exhaust isnt a restrictive component but once at 300bhp maybe it is? Interested to learn the restrictive bits on the ED30 engine at which power levels.

I actually bought a 2.75" Milltek Downpipe (which is for sale by the way) but opted for the 3" as Milltek gave me a deal on it with my car being the test mule. The guy at Milltek did say however that his brothers TT runs 400bhp on a 2.75" system and that there is no need for the 3" downpipe.
I cannot recommend one over the other as I have no experience of the 2.75" unit on my car, but the Milltek guys did say the 3" downpipe was better on a mapped S3 over the 2.75" unit, but then the 3" is likely to cost a couple of hundred £Â£'s more - read in to that what you will.
The 3" is less likely to improve torque vs the 2.75" on an unmapped car (my car was proof of that as it was r/r tested before and after having the exhaust fitted), but as was suggested, when the car is mapped, this could change. I cannot confirm this one way or another.
Restrictive parts on the Ed30/Cupra and the regular 2.0TFSi's for that matter is the intercooler. As I understand it, the S3 intercooler fits into the aforementioned cars with the S3 pipework. There is a guy doing it in early new year, hopefully with a report back as to confirm that it does work. As the core is 1.5cm thicker, it is estimated that that it has 40% better cooling capacity. As the Ed30/Cupra have a bigger turbo than the GTi/FR but use the same intercooler, the bigger intercooler should help maintain power levels. With the S3 intercooler and pipework only costing £200 from an Audi dealer and sharing a part number with the intercooler on the GTi/ED30/FR/Cupra except for the - letter at the end, it is a good stealthy upgrade which the stealers are unlikely to notice, and it is a lot cheaper than the overpriced aftermarket units.
The airflow in to the engine on the Ed30/Cupra/FR/GTi is crap too - The plastic engine cover does not make for smooth airflow in.
The other limiting factor is the amount of fuel the engine can muster. Revo and Custom Code are developing ways more fuel can be added to the engine as it has been suggested that closer to 350bhp could be attained on the Ed30/Cupra on the standard turbo. The extra fuel may be delivered by a currently being developed additional fuel pump. One of my mates with a Cupra will probably have his car used to develop this.
One way or another, the Ed30/Cupra have the following likely outputs with the following mods.
Standard - Most cars are making 15-20bhp over standard on rolling roads - ie 230PS = 245bhp
Turbo Back Exhaust and intake kit - Approx 10-15bhp extra
Remap alone - Expect output to increase to around 300bhp
Remap, exhaust, filter - Expect 320bhp
Remap, exhaust, filter and intercooler - Possible adjustment to map could see 330bhp
Remap, exhaust, filter, uprated fuelling and intercooler - Possible 340-350bhp
