...in which case it must have an amp built in.

It connects to the blue remote wire from the back of your headunit.

You should have a remote wire of some description - it may be labelled rem or ant, and may not even be blue - but if you don't connect it, don't expect too much sound from the sub!(it switches it on).

If you really can't locate the remote wire, connect it to an ignition or accessory live.

yeh that blue cable activates the amp. It works on (+) feed

What sterio do you have?

Some people wire it to the rear lights. So when they turn the lights on - the amp turns on
:)

Atm ive got some nafo tape player  gotta wait till saturday to wire up my pioneer one :undecided: (which defo does have a blue cable)

1. So it wont work at all without that connected to something?

2. I wont need a switch on the main power cable to turn the sub on and off (to stop the battery draining) as that cable does it for me when i turn on the head unit?

3. Could i wire it up to the power cable until i get my new head unit in?

sorry for all the questions im just trying to see what options i have atm :undecided:

1. No

2. You wont need a switch and yes the once the remote on or elec aerial wire is connected the amp
will/should go on and off with the head unit

3. I wouldnt wire it up to the power cable as it would be on all the time but you could wire it up to a switch
or something similar that could be switched off at the same time as the radio or the ignition.

Fair play, good luck and regarding a wiring kit I would get the best you can afford (without going mental of course ) and any install is only as good as the way its fitted and set up
