just a note to all those thinking of ordering from bassjunkies. I placed an order over the phone last week for an alpine amp. They said it would arrive today. Fair enough I think and paid for it over the phone.

I have arranged for someone to be in today to take delivery for said order who rang them to see if they could find out an approx time of delivery. bassjunkies said they would ring her back in 10 mins. an hr and a half later she rings again to find out what’s going on only to be told that the amp is out of stock and has been discontinued. so if she hadn’t rang to find out an approx time of arrival she would have been sat in all day for nothing. we heard nothing about said problems from bassjunkies. Very unprofessional. It is also still for sale;

Well that sucks, maybe phone them up and speak to the highest person there (preferably the MD) and get a free or discounted amp.

i brought a sony headunit from them on monday, tryed it and couldnt get it to work. Couldnt figure out why, took it there they fitted it and told me would be £35....went back 40mins later....was fitted and the golf was outside the shop, doors were left unlocked with my new headunit in place for anyone to take.

Went inside and they told me it was £65 as they had to hardwire it as there isnt a switched life on the factory fitted golf stero so thats a extra £10 on top the £35...then another £20 for a ISO altho i provided one with it.

Such a f**king rip off, £65 to put a ISO on and click it in basically. Dunno why didnt work for me.

I've only used bassjunkies once for a sub/amp deal, at it seemed ok. Delivered a day or 2 later, well wrapped etc. However, I have noticed it came with no screws for screwing the sub into the box, but that's only a little annoying, it's not like they said it included them.

However, aye, I'd give them a ring and threaten to ring trading standards (don't know if you could do anything, but threatening them with it generally works).

yh i would prefer to buy from online but wanted the ease on the guarantee/return policy if got it from a shop 10mins from my house.

Headunit i got is same price on caraudiodirect anyways as from bassjunkies. and speakers im tempted to get are good buy, they do have good ddeals on atm at bassjunkies in all fairness

for obvious reason im now goin to be against these knob heads. The service that i receive makes a lot of difference to wether i go back. even though this thread was started on 11th december, that amp is still on their website. even though i was told it was discontinued. Not very good imo. Agreed that the closeness makes it easier for you but i still wouldnt be going back there, and never will.

As for the speakers, how do you know they are good. do you know the power handling figures for them? You could be replacing your standards with some of the same rating.  More research is needed on your part

i mean there cheap for a comp set from a okish brand. But as people say you get what you pay for

If i may - i have some fli 17cm componenets - i think they also do the size your looking for. From what iv read not many people have them but they are round about the same price as the toxic but better quality imo.
