Well the search lasted 7 weeks, then i found this

118k, has had a roof down respray, recent head skim and  new head gasket. and a few other bits.

But the Main thing is its  ORIGINAL apart from lowered suspension.

And thats how it will remain, the whole point of this project is a In  Use Daily that will remain as original as i can.

HAd the first few steps taken thanks to this very helpful forum, including the  Oil Temp wire reattached so the MFA is now fully functional.

Needs a few cosmetic touches in the short term, new aerial, and window switches. Also the stero is permanent live, but i aint doing that  in this weather.

Then the bigger jobs will begin as and when the MkII driver is sold.

They include
- Full Lock set change,  its got 2 different keys.
- get rear windows working, not an issue  short term, but would like everything to work
- Rear Axle removal - clean / powder coat as required
- Engine bay overhauls - Engine out if required.

Thas should just about get me into 2008.

Will get better pictures up when the weather improves.

Well they say slow and steady wins the race, and this might be a long old process.

Had a laser alignment and adjustments done today, oh and some AIR put in the tyres  :embarassed: Must remember NEVER trust anyone.

Also sorted out the spagetti that was the stereo wiring, so it works off the ignition now, not permanent live like it was.

Next up is to fix the Reverse Lights ( again, I love this forum, Top Tips a plenty ) and fit some New front indy covers.

oh and it needs a clean now too

Amazing how much the fuel consupmtion improves with a well set up car.

Well, its all the small fiddly jobs for this update - most done tonight in a 4 hour session in the garage tonight. Relieves the Boredom of a day at me desk

First up is the crystal front indicators, improve the front end no end.

Then i have sorted the leaking power  steering fluid pipe out and cleaned up all the mess thats caused

then it was time to fit the new front fogs ( cheers again Mr Blue )  which ended up with a bit of a re wiring jobs.

then started ripping out the 6x9's that are WOOD screwed onto the rear shelf, and sorted out some bodged wiring so i can fit the 6x4's into the side shelves when they get here ( Cheers Monk Al  )

then the biggy for tonight, and I HATE doing anything like this, but its REMOVING other peoples wiring, espeically BODGED wiring,  but i now don't have a massive lump of wiring in the boot that was originally part of the towbar. Scotlocks a plenty, most fitted badly, wires just un sleeved, then bits just wound round and taped over. But it's all removed now, and all lights work again, even sorted L/H reverse light out too, just need to " jump " the diffrent connectors on the gearbox

Until the next time, thanks for looking.

Well I decided that a new year resoltion should be to get off my arse and do more work on the car

so I  did

After a damn good clear and underbody jetwash it was into the garage to check over the rear brakes

So whilist flying i decided to do summat about the rear bumper not being level

but the fact it was only held in by 3 DIFFERENT bolts might not have been helping     new bolts and a shimmed bracket should cure it tomorro.Gave it a good clean and polish ready for refitting .

i then decided to strip the rear  interior out, clean it all, cure the water leak where the tow bar electrix went, remove the METRES os unexplained wiring and re wire the rear speakes as they were somewhat bodged by the last owner

then i sorted the water leak thru the rear spoiler holes and trial fitted the new rear lights from russ racer ( not the best piccies - will do one tomorrow in the daylight

just got to finish cleaning the boot inside then rebuild it all after a trip to gsf tomorrow.

Then turn it round and do the front brakes and front interior

Just a few little bits done

New rear doors handles - at least the kids can get in now

Broke the rear window mechinism on the passenger side trying to UN BODGE there  fix - new bits on the way from Not Escorts  so they are WEDGED shut now and the door cards just tacked back on - after i had rust treated behind them.

but the find of the afternoon - routing thru the bits i got along with the engine I bought off here and there was a Very clean K&N air filter  sitting in the airbox so that got installed too

Not much of an update but hey - its a slow process

the rear windows now work ( cheers not escorts ) with replacement mechanisms so no whistling noise and more and the washing the rear seat when i wash the car

made a start on cleaning the underside ready for a underbody reseal - a time when having a lowered car isnt good

well after my oil change disaster i decided to treat the old girl to some new front brakes

so from old to new

thank god for breaker bars - the caliper carrier bolts were   tight

But all removed - cleaned - new brembo discs on - and just got to bed them in now. but at least the nasty wobble under braking has gone

also hopefuly ( keeping fingers crossed ) cured my coolant leak - swapped the old spung clip thing for a jubillee clip and all is well so far

. Next job - fix the boot central locking

Well thought I would do a bit of an update

Firstly the front end is now nearly totaly crystal lit - just the fogs to go - but I want yellow crystals and I cant seem to find any out there

Then came the private plate as our lass wanted it off her car  - it was a question of which plate style and with a little help from chris - ( cheers again - I settled on a straight german style. )

Next came a new set of wheels - went for the easy and safe route of some g60 steels from caddy vantastic - cheers again. and settled for the Black inserts .

Then came some enforced work - an oil leak to sort - battery light on constantly and a few other teething issues related to running a 18 year old motor

Next Job is a CV Boot change ( or complete driveshaft )
