exhaust or suspension first?
« on: 14 November 2007, 19:11 »
ok - it's either the zaust or the shockers that are gonna get it first?

would be interested in anyone's thoughts on what to do first and why?  (both will be done at some point)

things to bear in mind.... whatever i get I would like good quality not cheep stuff as I want it to last and perform well...

zaust - I will go from cat back and SS - don't want barry boy - just twin rounds and don't want to deafen myself or neighbours everytime i leave for work but want it to sound a bit burbly/throaty - what do you have? what size? what is good quality? who to purchase from?

springs/shockers - have read Bradleys excellent write up and would be interested to hear what people have fitted... am probably going to pop 17"s on spring/summer 08 and don't want to go too OTT but like the idea that I might be able to slam it for shows etc... and then raise (easily?) afterwards for clearing speed humps (i like my sump just the way it is) and for more comfortable day-to-day use (daily driver at the moment)
So...  any reason why not coilovers? how much would I be looking at for a good set? who has what fitted? how many hours fitting? anything to be wary of? good suppliers?

right... thanks for reading all of that... and thank you in advance for your replies.

cheers

Guy

I would plump for the exhaust first assuming you already have either a cone filter or a good panel filter with a drilled air box!
Make I would go for Magnex as thats good and fairly quiet.

Get used to driving the car in all conditions then decide on what suspension you want. (coilovers with adjustable damping being the best)

that's food for thought guys... thank you

i might plump for the exhaust first and will pop a K&N in too... so far looking at milltek, jetex, magnex & janspeed... any others i should look at? quality is what i am after over other things...

the mk3 i have had for a year already and will definitely go for coilovers asap...  used to the ride but just want to improve it and slam it for shows!   have spoken to silverstone tuning who are doing spax for £574.99 - is this a good price? are spax worth that?
