What I'm hearing is that there might be another another viable solution.  (and might save you guys in the UK some money in insurance)

Drilling (at least) 3 1" holes in the lower part of the factory filter box (on the far side) with a drop in K&N filter leading to a big bore intake tube (like one from ABD)

Whatcha think?

Alpine 9815
JBL BassPro
CDT Audio HD-52 in reinforced q-form kicks
MB Quart 218.21 (mid's) in rear
QuietCar (being applied)

Im happy with my K&N 57i

I dont reckon theres any increase in performance from a drilled airbox ... just alot of noise.

'iball' and Overseer - I've done about 250miles since its been on and I'm still really happy with it.

It doesnt give you a massive power boost at all, but I've found it really helps the car to rev very freely and smoother through the rev range. I'm only talking from a 16v point of view BTW.

The noise isnt intrusive at all when youre driving around 'normaly' you actually dont really notice it. Its only when you want to have a bit of fun you can get it to roar, its enough to put a smile on your face  ;D

I'll put some pics up if you want fellas?
