If your engine is pinking, check the ignition timing. With a conversion like yours a rolling road session would be money well spent as standard settings no longer apply.Try to adjust the ignition timing (retard it) on the road a small amount at a time untill the pinking stops. As for the idle, if you have a wild cam in there you will never get a good smooth idle due to the big overlap race cams have. If you fit a pair of 45's, I doubt it will improve the idle by a vast amount. If the fuel injection is set up properly it will be as good as you will get. Should get more power with the 45's tho.
