Fuelling On A 16v?
« on: 27 October 2007, 10:07 »
ok as a follow on from my car not starting and then fiding the plugs are bone dry after trying to start the car. ive checked the fuel pump by taking off the incoming fuel line at the fuel rail. when the ignition is turned on fuel pumps through for a couple of seconds and then stops, i was wondering if this is normal or should there be a continuous flow?

also any suggestions as to why fuel os not reaching the cylinders even though there is obviously some amount of fuel pumping in?

thanks. bunter

The burst of fuel and the sound from the fuel pump will be the pump initially priming itself to get fuel to the rail ready for launch :)

i have replaced the fuel pump relay with a brand new one a few months ago as i thought it might be the problem but to no avail :(

il have a go at testing the feed to the injectors at the weekend, thanks.

also thinking of grabbing myself a second hand ecu and trying that aswell :)

thanks. bunter
