I used my vw dealer - Cost 300 quid but they only sub it to the AA. Your better off just giving them a call!

Its worth it if you need it! If you crash your car in 6 months time and your in a finance deal - you will thank the stars you have it believe me! Also go for gap return to invoice means in 2 years if you crash your car and its written off you get full purchase price back! FOR £300 quid a bargain!

went for AA in the end
they don't expect you to pay in one go which suits me and you can cancel when you sell the car
p.s nice car by the way, j.m...........

J.M . i was reding this and i have taken out GAP on previous cars and was going to with my new ED30 but what would happen say if you wrote of your ed30(god forbid) what would happen as the insurance co/gap co wouldn't be able to buy you another ed30 as its a limited run of 1500, would it be a used one plus the balance or just a cash payment??

p.s i bought it from AA Warranty in the end

cheaper than VW and you can pay it monthly and cancel it when you sell the car as opposed to VW's which is more expensive and they expect you to pay it in one go

it definitely helps me to sleep at night as i've read a couple of heartbreaking stories about car thefts on here and while i love my new car, if it went, i'd get over it when i got a fat cheque but touch wood it will never happen

p.p.s second impressions of the car is that it gets better and better, the blue dials when the lights are on are fantastic, the exhausts look excellent i.m.o but the front grill is a bit rubbish. although i'm not checking the mpg (!) the reader flickers a lot but you can check the range to get an approximate but it's a killer on petrol but it's worth it as i'm going that bit quicker than most. the sat nav is a bit rubbish to be honest and when using it on routes i know, it gives me the wrong route! whoops!!! but i do like the way it links in with the dash........overall i am glad i've done it despite the expense...........all passengers have also been complementary but they all said it was expensive considering it was only a vw but i don't think you can get anything else suitable with that power for that price and also i couldn't care less about brand image..............

i'll stop boring you all now!!!

Nowt wrong with VW as a brand... can't think of any other company who has universally loved iconic cars like the Beetle and Golf GTI... The Golf GTI came second in a national survey for car of the 20th century held by Top Gear only beaten by the road-going Maclaren F1 - a £1 million car when new - and in the company of other top ten finalists from Ferarri, Lamboghini etc...  Plus there's the small fact that VW/Audi own Lamboghini, Bugatti, Seat, Skoda etc... I was looking for a mature executive car today on autotrader for next year something under 15k and suitable for the family.  After 1 minute looking at BMWs, Lexus's and Mercedes I realised that I can't move away from VW - love them too much.  So it will be a Phateon or Passat W8 next year

i agree, for me vw is cool but others, for the price, would prefer a bmw/merc but the performance will be nowhere near
