After 1 minute looking at BMWs, Lexus's and Mercedes I realised that I can't move away from VW - love them too much.  So it will be a Phateon or Passat W8 next year

Good shout - had a good squint at a Phaeton last week when my GTI was in for service. Big, classy looking machine and a lot of car for your money when second hand - that's definately the way to go

Exactly.. they are used car bargains... you can pick up a low mileage Passat W8 (<45k miles) for around £8k and it comes fully loaded with leather, sat nav, xenons etc... costing £30k only 3 years ago   A 2-3 year old Phateon would cost anywhere between £15 - £25k depending on what you go for, but considering that a new one cost anywhere upto £70k  with all the extras means you're getting a bargain.

I used my vw dealer - Cost 300 quid but they only sub it to the AA. Your better off just giving them a call!
