It's nice to see that it isn't just me who ignores the MPG

what do you mean - just you? I ignore it, too. And only feed it V-Power.

To be honest I have been driving it like i stolen since day 0  Its just too tempting to not give it some welly every time.. Think by 500miles I had already red lined... Sorry...I feel I have a duty to let people hear that V6 and druel

I have decided to ignor the MPG too!!! Whats the point in making yourself depressed!! We all know its a guzzler!! As long as I only have to fill her up one a week im happy

Problem is Im driving like a granny come Friday through to Sunday :nerd:

Ok... even thought I have now stopped checking, I have found that driving like a nut you will drop easily to 12mpg. But thats really giving it some, with stopping and starting. Driving slowly with the normal flow of traffic I have previously averaged 31mpg. But it only has 1100 miles on the clock and i would expect that to improve slightly.

It will improve a little..then you hit next March when your road tax goes to £400 a year

Seriously though, I love the R32, I would have one but the mpg and up and coming road tax problem puts me off a bit.

it's done 9000 and the engine's been well adjusted

i can't speak highly enough of this car to be honest, it's pretty good and better than i imagined or expected from the test drive

slightly annoyed about vw giving it to me in the first place with a slight issue but that's forgotten now

 :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug:

I told you it would be good

God how I miss mine

I noticed you lament a lot, illyun....
maybe you should've bought R32 again instead of Ed30, huh?

I've already explained why I didn't go for another one - basically I like the R32 more than the GTI - although there is something to be said about the GTIs nimble handling - and love the V6 engine on the R32 compared to which the GTI engine sounds puny.  However, the fuel costs and higher tax don't justify for me, getting an R32.  Plus the fact that the Ed30 is a limited edition model...

i might end up agreeing with you in the future about gti over r32 but for now it suits me fine, i think the gti is probably a bit more fun in some respects because you have to work slightly harder to get the speed whereas the r32 seems like a time machine it's that quick especially for me coming from a small engine

i don't do masses of miles so it's not a major issue for mpg, to lose £20 here or there is okay but if i was doing say 20k a year, i wouldn't have bought it

but it's good fun for as long as it lasts......................

anway, i promise last post now as i am boring myself going on about it!!!!
