Continental Contisport any day for me, had eagle f1's good but i think that the Contisport stick alot better in the wet

I know what you are saying... I had Contis on my 06 GTI and they were superb... I remember encountering a roundabout on the A14 once and doing 70 without realising - I only looked at the speedo when I was on the roundabout as it felt too fast   I really thought the car could roll over at worse and skid a long way at best, but they kept the car firmly planted without a whimper!   Brilliant tyres.  They did start to wear quite quickly though and I had to swap the fronts with the rears after 11k miles.  Can't remember what I had on my R32 - think they may well have been Contis too, but whatever they were, they were good - the 4WD helped too   My first Edition 30 had Dunlops and they were SHYTE SHYTE SHYTE...  Can't emphasis that enough.  The car was skidding around as if on a bl00dy icerink from the word go - and I didn't even push it past 3k rpm for the first 1000km   I thought it couldn't handle the 230bhp and posted a comment to that effect... but no, it was the crappy Dunlops.  I have Michelin Pilots now and they are excellent.  I voted for Eagle F1s but I might just go for the Contis next time.

Lucky old me !!!! My Ed 30 came with Dunlops...... Funny the traction control light has an intermittent fault - its always on in when it rains ?

Seriously I have nothing else to compare them to on this car - so blissfully ignorant for the next 10K

Oh dear... exactly what I experienced with my Ed30 and Dunlops.  Your ESP is fine - as I'm sure you know... its the Duncraps that are the problem.

how do you find your contis are wearing paulm007? Taking into consideration your track day of course.. only my fronts will need to be changed at around 9k judging by how much they have worn already, I wouldn't consider myself to be to hard on them!
Want to go for the Mich PS2 next - they were fantastic on my old R!!

Mine is wearing about the same too 9-10k and I will be on baldies....errr....my tyres that is

I'm happy with the Conti 2s so far grip in both the dry and wet has been good. Emergency braking performance has been exellent (its saved the lives of quite a few suicidal Pheasants on the Yorkshire country lanes  )
They are a little noisy though
After 5800 miles they are half worn. I will probably go for the Conti 3s. But the F1s sound tempting.

Anyone planning to rotate their tyres? I thnk it was TT or RedRobin who said that they do it on their cars.

I will swap the Shytemax in a few thousand miles. Last thing I want is 2 worn ones meaning I need to buy more of the horrible things. F1 Asymetrics for me at the soonest possible.

....Strictly only in axle pairs. As fronts wear quicker they get swopped with the rears such that wear remains fairly even until time for a complete new set.

In the tests they performed well. but they look like cheap remoulds from a market stall.
