sorry but "just using them" statement does not apply for speakers in anyway shape or form... i know soooo many noobs who buy speakers, crank them up with loadsa bass and within a couple of weeks, there're shagged !!
TRUST ME, go easy on them for a while, you'll notice that you'll need to adjust the bass down after a while..
i would never ever run my speakers to the max, dont matter if you run them in or not, if you over power them they will f**k up alot quicker anyway..
in my mk 3 iv kept the system to a simple set up unlike my other car, so basically iv got Focal 2 ways up front in the doors, these are very expensive but sound awesome, deffo my fave speaker brand... kept standard tweets up front and all standard speakers in the back, these are running direct form my Alpine CDA 9853 which is a monster of a HU, time correction, EQ, Crossovers etc, can tweek your life away to get the exact sound from the speakers that the manufactures of the speakers reccomend
in the boot iv got a 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch XLC Sub in sealed box powered by a pheonix Gold QX 2200 Amp
Sounds wicked, just right...and all thats needed really..
