MK3 cutting out
« on: 02 March 2004, 12:06 »
Hi

can anyone help with a problem. I have had my MK3 GTI 2.0 ltr P reg for 3 months, just recently it cuts out without warning. This maybe happens once a week and at any speed eg at a roundabout and on the duel carraige way just yesterday.

The engine just dies but start on first turn of the ignition.

thanks for any help

Alan

I had this on my Mk3 Driver. Tried loads and loads of things but in the end I cleaned out the fuel tank as I found there was some sediment in there and it never happened again. I couldnt tell you if that's coincidence but it's free and easy so you want to start there. Also clean and check every connection. It is a nightmare one though. Mine would do it then be fine 30 mins later.
