....No error codes have ever been thrown in 35,000 miles.

OK, thanks.

Does the Milltek still have the upstream boss fitting for the pre-cat lambda?  The blue circles are for the main or post-cat lambdas, and the pink circle is for the pre-cat lambda, but I can't see the boss on the Milltek?

....They are both Milltek - the one below is a Cat-back. I'm afraid that you've completely lost me re terms such as pre and post-cat lambdas.

I think TT is asking is if the Lambda sensor before the cat on the Milltek is still mounted at the head of the downpipe or is it mounted just before the cat. Looking at your Milltek, it looks like its mounted at the head (cannot see where it screws in on your pic)

RR, you need to get your car on a dyno at some point   with all those mods we'd all love to know what its kicking out  could you be in the 280's??

carbon cam cover looks mint!! does the TTshop have a website, also how much bhp would you see from the miltek turbo back and carbonio intake, also will these mods have a bigger affect if your gti is remapped?

....I'm sorry but I don't know the answer re Lambda sensor position. Hopefully this may help: http://www.millteksport.com/media.file.cfm?fileid=230

Revo Stage2 is usually about 265-ish and I'm only Stage1. My only engine mods are Carbonio, Milltek Hi-flow+Downpipe, Forge DV, Neuspeed Turbo Discharge & Charge pipes with SAMCO turbo hoses. The other mods are suspension and brakes and cosmetic. Yes, she does respond very quickly and fly, but is very driveable and I very very rarely get wheelspin (but that's down to my driving style).

I don't see any point in me making her more aggressive - It takes conscious effort to stay within UK licence losing territory as it is!

OK, pre and post-cat lambda sensors enable greater, more finer control of the combustion process.  They also determine very accurately weather the actual catalyctic convertor is working.  Cars which relied on just one lambda probe often had cats replaced when there was absolutely nothing wrong with the cat.

How to lambdas work.  The first, pre-cat lambda probe assesses the quality of the combustion, as it leaves the engine, but before any "correction" to the exhaust gasses is carried out by the cat.  The data from this pre-cat lambda is used by the engine ECU to adapt the fuel delivery rates injected, in order to achieve the "cleanest" combustion.  The second, post-cat lambda has two functions, the primary function basically assesses the efficiency of the catalyctic converter (is it working as designed, or is it operating at a lower efficiency due to oil or lead contamination or physical damage, or is it not operating at all due to removal of cat!).  Its lesser function also helps fine tune further the fuel injection.

If either lambda probe senses data beyond the prescribed limits, it will log a DTC, and also illuminate the emissions warning light on the dash!

It does, thanks.  The pre-cat lambda has been moved to the elbow, right next to the flange.

....TTshop website: http://www.thettshop.co.uk/index.asp But no GTI bits on the site.

Milltek Hi-flow and Carbonio intake might add around 5 bhp without a remap, but will improve throttle response and a small gain in torque. Remap the ECU and then the benefits are released - Probably an extra 20 bhp but depending on the remap and other mods. A performance exhaust plus intake will help the engine breathe. And you'll enjoy the sounds too - NOT boy-racer, and quiet except when engine working hard - Perfect!
