Guys,

Great issue of EVO this month. Fantastic M series test as well as tyres stuff.

Im sure someone will scan it in but overall

(all were in 225/45 17 inch sizes)

1st Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric (note this is the new pattern not the older GSD3 which I loved)
2nd Vredestein Ultrac sessanta !
3rd Continental Contisport contact 3
4th Bridgestone Potenza RE050-A
5th Mich Pilot Sport PS2
6th Pirelli PZero Nero
7th Kumho Ecsta STP KU31
8th Dunlop Sport Maxx
9th Yokohama S.DRIVE

Personally I always wondered how good the new F1 pattern tyre would be , I loved the GSD3 tyre.
Based on this is could be even better , the GSD3 usually excelled in wet weather tests but not so good in dry , so the new pattern looks to have improved this.

Interestingly , they also state that they tested the OE 18 inch with Bridgestones RE050-A and they were WORSE!!! 2.5 sec a lap slower than 17's tested above.
Go figure! maybe I should stop the ED30 I have on order lol

(they alos state that the E30 suspension is the same as std golf)

Hope that all helps

Dont think TT will be happy to see that the Pilot Sports have come 5th, honestly thought they would be abit higher in the league.

I had Conti's on my 06 GTI, Dunlop Sport Shyte on my first Ed30 and have Michelin Pilots on my current car - can't remember what the R32 had.
I think the Conti's were brilliant, the Michelins are very good and the Dunlop Sport Shyte were... shyte

Conti 2's on mine.......at the moment  my dealer promised Conti's as replacements, so at some point hope for Conti 3's even if I have to put a bit to them

4k up at present and still 5mm of tread left...so 3mm down and 3mm to go, so looks like 8-9k for the fronts.

My R32 came with Dunlop sport maxx. I must say that I am not that impressed with them!! When they are due a change I think i will be opting for the mich's or the conti's.

They seem to squeeeeeeel like hell round corners at speed (yep its that speed issue again) havent had a chance to test them fully in the wet.. cant belive it hasnt rained since i got my car. The whole point of having 4wd was so I could continue to drive like a loon in the wet! roll on autumn!! And i will tell you if they are any better..
