Temperature
« on: 28 February 2004, 19:14 »
Hi, on my 1.3 golf the temperature gauge has never worked properly, only very occasionaly does it work. I don't even know where this is located, anyone got any ideas on how to fix it? Could it be a loose wire, as its intermittent?

it is located in the thermostat housing which is on the righthand side of the cylinderhead. its a little thing with 1 wire conected to it . it may be a loose conection. if you have the haynes manual it tells you in this it has a pic of where its located. its in the cooling section.... :)

if this wire is on ok then it could be the sender if you replace it and it still doesnt work then it may be the loose wire connections at the back of your clocks....

but it will either be faulty sender or loose conection on the sender....... hope this helps

Yeah, thanks. I'll have to try that. Do you know where i can get a new one and how much, or is it one of those thongs that everyone stocks? How easy is it to replace too?
