huddersfield vw have agreed to replace all the parts, even the stereo. he says he can get a stereo facia ??

anyway as long as its all sorted thats ok with me.

just thought afterwards should i see if they would fit me an ipod interface labour free?

I'd just ask where my IPOD prep had gone to in the mix-up. If they are that braindead, then they'll fit you one for nothing and say sorry for forgetting it in the first place :laugh: :laugh:

well got the dash parts all swapped and looking as they should, they even fitted an rcd 300 with the mp3 reading capability. very happy indead  :smiley:

I have had my car in on five occassions ( they have had it a week at one stretch and a couple of days another time) as my USB connection has been taking the P*ss since mark. VW UK don't know what to do. They even sent a copy of my files from the USB drive to Milton Keynes so that they could analise the MP3 files.
They have replaced the usb connection, the cable and the head unit. I told them as its been in so often can they change the head unit to an 08 spec. oooohh no gotta change like for like when its a warrenty claim...... Gits. Should have got the I-Pod connection instead.

Mind you I don't own an I-Pod. :laugh:

Mind you getting very P*ssed off with the situation now.

WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS DO yes I know I'm shouting advice please  :angry:

had a parrot fit last week,damaged my gear surround 132 vat to replace the nice man ordered me one noticed the top dash and vents out of line.then the bloody parrot stopped working after one day.now all sorted.but wife has bumped the nearside front corner bumper to day.im gutted.x

Sorry to hear that.

If they don't get it sorted this time I would seriously ask for the Money you spent on the USB option back. Then I would change the brand new head unit for an aftermarket one that does work. Sell the OEM HU on fleabay and it shouldn't have cost you much to exchange AND you will have a better set-up :smiley:

This is all assuming that you want an aftermarket set-up :undecided:
