few people done this to their MKIV's so its entirely possible; not sure what you need altogether, i think new hubs are required plus the carriers and calipers (obviously!) also think you need at least 18 inch wheels for everything to fit!!

I wouldn't recommend Porsche brakes personally. Had nothing but trouble with them on my Boxster. Rear discs continually rusted on the inboard side. You really needed to use them hard to keep the discs clean

There are also inherent problems due to corrosion between the alloy callipers and the stainless steel brake pad guides. Corrosion results and prevents the pads moving cleanly on the guides, thereby reducing the braking efficiency and resulting in rust build up on the disc surface, particularly the inboard rears, but also on the fronts to a lesser degree. Had one set of discs replaced under warranty and had to replace all 4 discs pads again before I sold the car. Not that expensive but at over £750/set at OPC prices  better to get them done by an independent specialist.

I would go with AP or Brembo personally. RR's look the dogs I must admit. Standard brakes good enough for my GTI at the moment though

Um.

Why would you want to upgrade the stock breaks? They brilliant.
We did a test while we were away. (Must still post pics) and my dad was driving and before we went onto a mountain pass my dad knew really well (Naturally we were gonna have some fun) my dad told us to all hold on and at about 100km per hour he slammed on breaks and then turned hard to the right taking a turn before flooring the car. Im terribly sorry. But when the Dvd Player goes flying. (Its strapped down how can it move??) and we all end up a few inches from the windscreen without even a screech from the tyres. No slide either. Thats brilliant.

Though mind you. The car is a year old. Its its first time since we got it that it has left Cape Town and did a 600km trip with ease. We only used one tank of fuel!!! BAck to the original topic

I see no reason to upgrade. Rather get some decent tyres. We got Bridgestone and only "managed" to get the car to drift once
