Electric window wiring again!

Got some new switches (cheers simpson!), but the pins are aranged differently!

So what wires go to what pins on here:



Heres me thinking it was a 5 minute swap job!

This needs clarifying but I think the switches on the console may be different to those in the rear doors. Do you have the correct ones??? Just a thought.

they are supposed to be, I think they are aftermarket ones though - just have the pins in a differenet layout?

yeah mate sorry i told you they were gsf switches, can you take a pic of your wiring loom? and il try and help you. Cheers :smiley:

im guessing the two centre ones are for illumination


the top ones for UP
the bottom ones for DOWN


multi meter them to find out  :smiley:

VAG switch contacts have numbers next to them

long delay anyway..

Pulled the old switch out and we have 3 common'd lives, a ground and the blk & blk/blu wires that go to the window motor.

ANy more ideas?

Just looking at the diagram below:

This is exactly the same layout as the switch I have. It looks like the diagram shows ground going to the 2 centre pins - have I rad this right?

If so, I only have one ground wire from the VAG switches (And therefore a spare live as the vag uses 3), so do I just split the one ground into 2?

Just for your info folks,

The switches work wired as the piccy, just need to split a ground into 2. :wink: and leave one live unused.

im a bit confuses, erm the blue and whit eones go to the top and bottom for the regs i beleive there should only be a live and an earth and the other is ilumination, i don't think you will have a relay on the gsf wiring?  :smiley:
