INlet manifold?
« on: 25 February 2004, 13:28 »
I have a mk2 16v, the inlet manifold on it is from a SEAT. is this normal? I have just bought a 50mm VW manifold to replace it, as i like it to all be VW.

Would the SEAT one be a modification? or a scrap yard replacement?

Cheers

Check the engine code stamped on the engine block, should be a "KR" engine. The upper part of the manifold could have been changed for a Seat one as they use a similar engine (what size is it and what throttle body?). 50mm is the way to go on a 16v.

The seat one is the same style as the MK3 16V one.

err....I've just read on a different forum that the 42mm manifolds were better for performance?

Anyway, just bought a 2nd hand one from www.findapart.co.uk for ?45

then walked into Volkspares and got sold another one for ?15......

like buses.....  ;D
