No they come on in bright sun light and dont go off.
The sensor is in the screen not the dash, I have been through it 3 times with the delear and he confess's there is a problem. 2nd time they replaced the sensor, on the other 2 occassions with have reprogrammed.
So...car stood stationary in sun glasses weather, start the car with hand over sensor(most of the time without hand on sensor, as you would normally start car), then remove hand, leave for 15-20 minutes and they are still on??? so this how auto lights work, clever them.
I have a Freelander 2 and they work perfectly, start car in sunlight dont come, if it starts getting dark they come on, start the car in dark they are on as it gets brighter they go off...Tell me if I am expecting to much.
