engine sound?
« on: 17 August 2007, 23:33 »
why doesn't it sound like the powerful car it is?

the engine just doesn't have the beefy sound it should especially when just reving in neutral .

is it just mine or what? :undecided:

If it sounds anything like a diesel at low revs then its good. But apply pressure to the go pedal and you should get a stunning sound

Mines just done 7k now and i've only just took it past 4500/5000rpm the other day - sounded rather delightful

Has yours run in yet? I did find that once it had been run in, it did sound a bit more growly

I have run mine up to the forced upshift point in manual mode and can say it wails like a banshee  in a good way
The downshifts at high revs are brilliant as the DSG automatically blips the throttle to match the revs

You aren't hard of hearing are you Steve?

I SAID... YOU... AREN'T... HARD... OF... HEARING... ARE... YOU... STEVE?

You did 7K without going over 4500/5000 !!! I know your meant to run it in and all that, but I dont think I would be able to last that long.

Sounds great to me.

Even burbles a bit a tickover, mines got 14K on clock now. In fact when I first got it I thought the noise of the exhaust might be a bit tiring all the time on the motorway.

Your depriving your car of what it was born to do. I bet you car crys at night in the garage all alone doing its low revs lol

Haha.. I live in a cul-de-sac and my other cars are relegated to being parked on the turnaround - the GIT gets the drive all to itself

But I do love that whining noise the engine/turbo makes when you push it  - bit like a rally car i think i could get addicted!
