I got a quote from Tesco today.....?887  :o

Then I rang local Swinton broker, who did the searching for me and qouted a mere ?437  ;D

Needless to say, the Golf will be insured and sorted in the next couple of weeks! ;)

Liverpool Victoria, allow body mods, but no engine mods, and they give you one years NCB when you join ;D

Not strictly true as I have my Revo'd PD150 insured through them. Basically they will allow engine mods, providing the engine cc is not increased. I found them very competitive but I am an old codger!

GTi PD150, Revo'd, Hasta La Vista!

HIC wanted an extra ?160 to insure my mk1 when I have finished the turbo conversion. I pay ?250 for a standard mk1 with wolfrace racelight wheels on and estimated?360 with the turbo. I told them it would probably be about 160 BHP when I finished. They just said to ring back when I?m ready and give them an exact BHP figure. They were really helpful and didn't seem too concerned exactly what specific parts I was useing.

Liverpool Victoria wouldnt even insure me!!!  tight gits!

I've just emailed Elephant with regard to adding an Induction Kit, Exhaust system and Thatcham Cat 1 alarm/Immobiliser (already fitted) ... god knows how much extra they'll ask for.

I am with HIC (in the golf mags) got fully comp with no no claims (but full on another car) for me and the missus, on a second car policy (they gave me full no claims for second car discount) for ?428.  This also includes any mods to the body etc and up to 10% extra power mods AND track day cover. Legal cover and breakdown.  BARGAIN!!!!

Bet they can't do the same this year!!! 8)
