1.9 8v gti wont idle but will rev passted 2000rpm

hi there iv got a 1.9 8v gti convirsion done to my mk2 had it done some time ago an then left it stud due to not enought funding to carrie the project on now iv gone back to it. it dose not seem to idle but once it gets pass 2000rpm it seems fine iv changed the injection pipes because they were corroded and i also chected for air leaks and didint find any if anyone has had this sort ov problem an could help it would be graitfull cheers danny.

was it running before you left it?

Check all the connections are ok and free from corrosion. Then check the blue sensor and change as a matter of course. Then check that the idle stabalizer valve is working. It should vibrate when the ignition is on.

sounds more like the timing is not set correctly

when i left the vehicle it was running spot on it dint miss a beat it started 1st turn ov the key just would not idle.
