Fitted an Alpine W202R to my ED30 a few weeks ago as the OEM ipod control was so poor, would never have ordered it if I knew exactly how it functioned.  Have to say that even though it was quite expensive, the features this unit offers are excellent, ipod control is nearly identical to your ipod screen except that instead of a scroll wheel you have a scroll bar and quick jumps along the bottom.  The bluetooth interface is also good, displays a touchscreen dialer along with phonebook, missed calls, dialled calls etc..  Was apprehensive about spending the anount of money on this unit however have no regrets now!!

I was tempted to go aftermarket double din but the cost is crazy if you want sat nav as well. Ended up with an MFD2 DVD for £400 as a make weight until this RNS-510 hits ebay which looks immense.

Single DIN with cubby hole equals one thing: Mk IV

lol just as well its down to personally opinion then.

whilst the OEM sat nav might look smart the functionality and sound quality is rubbish in comparison to a top end head unit and after market sat nav.

if you've not already seen it this thread might help

I have seen the new RNS 510, so whats your point exactly?  Even more reason not to put a pony single DIN in isn't it?

I personally think the nav from the MFD2 is better than my tomtom unit replaced by some way.

The moulded surround was fitted by the dealer, it came with a cheap plastic one but looked nowhere near as good, was very impressed with how it turned out
