I've tried Philips vision plus and Osram's Silver stars, and found them both a worthwhile upgrade, and the Osram's were the slightly better of the two.

thanks CC, why were the osrams better?

Sorry for the delay in answering you 2007, I can only say they had a whiter crisper light when compared to the Phillip's, that's not to say the Phillips were not good, because they are, just the Osrams a bit better IMO.

You made the right choice.

Are you changing all four, or just the dipped.

just put the my new Osram Silverstar H7's on dipped beam and they are good.  Definitely a nice bright white light and they light up the road more.  However it does look a bit strange with the main beams yellowly still, so I'll change them now too!

OUCH! How hard are the side light bulbs to get out?  My hand really hurts!  When I was sent the H7's I was also sent some new sidelight bulbs for free.  I have since found out they are known as W5W, however the ones I was sent are blue and dont really match the white light of the osram silverstars, so does anyone have any suggestions of the best match to silverstars for the sidelight bulb?  :nerd:

I just fitted silverstars to the main beam, all matches now!  also put in the blue (white light) sidelights they gave me.
