Replacement Halogen Headlights
« on: 28 July 2007, 21:48 »
I've been researching up-rated replacement Halogen headlights and I found an old post from TT who said Philips Vision Plus 50% are good and apparently don't look chav!

The Philips website is pretty good and informative:

http://www.lighting.philips.com/in_en/consumer/carlighting/1_car_lighting/car_which_lamp_to_buy.php?main=gb_en&parent=89083467512&id=in_en_car_lighting&lang=en

Has anyone fitted any of these Philips H7 bulbs and what could you recommend?

Thanks in advance.   :nerd:

i got some Vision Plus in my MKIV; big improvement over the standard bulbs; can see at least 25% further down the road

:afro: from me

EDIT - Got the Osram Silver Stars, not the vision plus DOH!

I have these in my GTI, work fine, a fair bit brighter and easy to fit! Not as good as factory fit zenons but a marked improvement on standard bulbs.

I've tried Philips vision plus and Osram's Silver stars, and found them both a worthwhile upgrade, and the Osram's were the slightly better of the two.

Do I take it these give off a much whiter light than standard bulbs?

I fitted Philips x-treme vision bulbs a few months ago, they are brighter but hard to tell if they  live upto Philips claims of 80% more light ? Auto express seemed to rate them highly. Still sorry I did nt get xenons...If TT still ain't around is now a good time to ask about Hella s retro fit Xenons ?!

I ordered the Osram's today, as they seem to have the most recent accolades, so I'll let you all know what I think.  :nerd:
