sunroof motor

picking up my new 16v later but it has no motor for the steel sunroof.
s the motor mk2 specific or do other motors fit, eg mk3 golf?

I believe Audi 80's are a direct fit.

Corrrado motor might fit also.

did that require cutting that evil bit of metal sticking out? the audi 80 one I believe you do have to chop off some random bit of metal - which isnt any use and wont stop you reverting back to the original setup.. r something?

Yeah, the pug one needs some ally filed down just wide of the screw holes so it sits flush.

I would have thought that it would be a straight on fit, just grab it if you can get it, and do a how to with pics.

bomp - how did you make the motor cover, i've been trying to do one myself but it just aint happening, did you use jsut like cream material, rather than matching maTERIAL? THE ONLY STUFF I COULD GET TO USE WAS A SUNVISOR, CUT DOWN TO GIVE ME SOME OF THE MATERIAL, BUT ITS QUITE THICK AND  doesnt fit too well, and has a crease line all the way through..  :sad:

oops slipped caps in the middle there without realising  :grin:

Use roof lining as the cover.

what wires were there to power it?

All i have is a thick blue and thick black that are joined side by side.

is that right?
