maybe traction control was trying to kick in and the ABS and it was trying to put your front brakes on at the same time? When i left the handbrake on and set off driving once the rears really smelt for a while

not sure how do you tell, its quite basic i.e poor seat adjustment no air con climate etc so doubt it, maybe nth eclutch is on its way out does it smell before it goes can they go at 145k, i know the let go at different times,

does my engine need beading in as it had done no milage before i got it, since having new cylinder head valves de coke etc

If the engine had no mileage when you got it, a burnout is about the worst possible thing to do. It's recommended that you take it easy for a thousand miles or so.

When did it last have a clutch fitted? Doing burnouts shoudnt really affect the clutch, but its possible that because you revved it so high then the clutch didnt get a chance to bite properly and was slipping. I'm just brainstorming though. A clutch smell wouldnt usually hang around that long

th eengin eisnt new its just had new cyinder head and valves and a head is it bad reving its then as i thought only new engines needed running in, think it done about 20 miles on new bit since ive got it, ive been driving normalyy but have floored it to 6000 rev sometomes through the gears, will i be causeing thing to scorch inside by doing this

dunno what the smell is but its there now all the time after a drive smell like the cluches smell to me like when granny ride it gettin out of a parking space, it seam sto be falling to bit, my audi a4 t sport was great no faults and had 163k, all cars are a gamble though, maybe its due a clutch

You sound suprised?

You know when it's your clutch because it just smells VILE  Happened to us once when we were helping some old bloke get his campervan out a ditch. The clutch didn't make it
