Its done how many miles since the top end was done  and you done what
It sounds like the clutch, the smell will go after a while or after a long motorway drive, but it could be the smell of new gaskets etc from the rebuild, I suggested now that you change the oil and filter, if any bits have kicked off you don't want them getting in the way of the good oil that might be left  :undecided:
You really should take more care of it, these cars are solid and give us alot of fun, but how much longer do you want to keep on having it?
Hopefully no damaged was done, I don't suppose it would have, at least you not tracked it straight after the rebuild  But the engine in the first few mins from cold can get severly damaged with use like that, if the engine is working hard at high revs the pistons will feel all the work especially with a change up during high revs, the clutch is designed to take some of the torque away to avoid damage, but it can only do so much before sustaining damage itself.

spinning the wheels wont tell you how much power it has! Spend 40 odd quid and put it in on a rolling road. and dont say you cant afford it coz the damage you have probably caused is gonna cost ya a lot more than 40 quid.

why are you being like that, its not as if i do them all the time, infact NEVER, apart from a few known again in some cars ive had it not as if am a burnout king i didnt 1 tiny burnout and asked for some advice what the problem might be and if it was the clutch smelling

iwas only asking if it wrecks the clutch, my mechanic said it may be on its way out anyway so proberly not my fault as only spun the the wheels in the wet in first and second, i didnt expect such hostile replies i know it is stupid but was only asking, id under stand if i did them all the time and big ones for ages
i didnt think smalll wheel spins while on the power done damage as see people do them all the time, i expect its from me  spining in first then chaging to second and catching it a bit, its proberly burning the dust left from it

im anti burnout as respect my car but didnt think odd one would hurt it guess i was wrong

apart from damaging your car doing a burnout you make yourself look a c*nt

no offence

if you have damaged something serves you right
