Certainly goes like stink and I think I have picked up my first 3-points today in the bl00dy thing after 5 years of driving like a mad-man... was doing about 83 on the A14 towards Ipswich when I saw a police car hiding on the opposite side looking for speeding drivers and I thought it quite unusual as I have driven on the A14 too many times to remember and never seen any police cars with cameras... anyway, I thought that there might be another waiting on my side and then 5 minutes later forgot about it.  Imagine my shock when I turned a corner to find a smiling policeman in a parking layby with a colleague and a camera pointing in my direction.  I braked hard but was doing anything between 75 to 80 so I'm going to have to wait for 2 weeks in case a get a letter...  :cry:  Can't believe my luck has held out so long though despite owning and driving some much faster cars - like the Golf R32...  :embarassed:

Thats the worst part - she was until about 10 minutes before that but the baby woke up and starting crying and didn't take too kindly to me trying to calm her down.  So I took over from my wife  :sad:

Here's hoping that they got one of their many "ERROR" codes. Do you know if it was a handheld or a floor/back of car mounted camera?

If it was a handheld you may just be lucky :wink:

If it was a handheld then I thought they had to stop you! Usually there is another plod car further up the road and they are the ones that stop you for being caught by the handheld. Maybe they have moved on from this and now the handheld also takes a picture? Anyone else know?

The other thing is if you carried on braking once you saw them until you were within the legal limit you may still get away with it as they have to have a constant reading!

Just trying to cheer you up a bit Illyun :smiley:

Hmm... just went on ukspeedtraps and read that if you were caught on a handheld camera then they send you a ticket within 14 days.  I'm sure that what that policeman had in his hand was a camera as it seemed to have a big lens type tube thing  :huh: and he was looking into it...   :sad: oh well - its the 14 day wait for me then.
