Weighted Shift Rod

Is a weighted shift rod worth fitting

As i'm gonna strip the gearbox down, now is the time to decide i reckon

Has anyone got one I know rubjonny has

And what about a Neuspeed Shortshift kit

Yep they make gear changes feel much smoother and a lot more positive. Money well spent I would say.

Not all short shifts fit with the weighted shift rod though i believe unless you do some trimming of the shift rod first

i know this might be a silly question, but how does a short shif mech work exactly? and are they easy to fit, becuase im considering the weighted shift rod, but if the short shift is easy to fit then might do that

 if you have access to a welder you can make your own, all you do is mark the flat angled bit of the shifter,cut approx 1" out of it with an angle grinder and weld it back together again.if you have doubts about your welding get someone compitent to do it and weld it both sided,grind it flat and re-paint it.
 if you do that and fit the weighted shift rod and the poly bush that matey sells at the top of this page,you will have fab gearchange..........

I made mine myself! Used a 1" CAT bolt with the head and thread chopped off, drilled into both ends, two bits of plain 1/4" bar with a 90' bend on the ends welded them in at required angles, jobs a good one!!
