Just finished this today, it my 1st install but def no the last 

There's a few tweeks I need to do to it but they can wait!

Anyway, here's some pics

This is my car, Im giving this away soon, just ned to sort out the suspension and exhaust

Some people seem to be slating the 6x9 on parcel shelf and sub in boot set up. To be honest there wasn't much else I could do with this install because all the kit was my bro's.

So I have a question:
Instead of buying a sub for the boot, what can I do with the second amp, (it was intended for a sub)

I was wondering as the car has 8 speakers now can I run all of them through the two amps, and if so how?

so you dont want a sub? not after a bit of shakeage? post back the model number of your amp and ill let you know. if your going to amp just speakers ( if its possible )they will need to be replaced really with aftermarket ones.

where have you got 8 speakers? 6x9s, back doors, front doors +   do you mean the ones in the dash?

6x9s can be Ok in an MDF shelf ( or better in the front of the car!) and if they are decent quality.

ive never been a real fan of 6x9's, I would always go small enclosure 10" sub running off a genesis monobloc or similar with decent front components phoenix gold etc and maybe the standard rear speakers running with filters (no bass) for imaging...

I think nice and simple always works best!

This kit is is pretty old now (nearly 4 years old) and hasn't been used for a year, but they're still pretty good!

Also I 'think' I have 8 speakers, 2 in dash, 2 in front door, 2 in rear door, 2 on back (double layered 18mm mdf) shelf, but what do I know?!

The spare tyre's still there, I've done it in a way so the tyre is still accessable. I started off with a base floor with a huge circle (for the spare tyre), made sure it was a tight fit (there was a lot of re-shaping involved!), mounted the amps, distribution block, and support beams directly onto this.

Then made the top, cut out 2 windows for the amps, in hindsight would have done 1 more for the dis' block too.

Lastly made the 2 side panels, these are temporary until I decide what to do with the space, subs or....

The set up sounds great, and it's more than enough for me, just what do I do with that 2nd amp?

if you wanted to and depending on the amp, you may want to add some coaxes into the dash and then use the amp to power whatever you felt you wanted too. They are tweeters as standard in the dash ( at least mine are!) so I wouldnt really recommend amping them, not in your situation anyway.

The speakers in the dash are run a part of a set with the front doors. So effectively you only have 3 pairs of speakers. You would need a 6 channel amp to work those, 2 channels for each pair.
Go for the 6x9's on the shelf and a 10" sub and a 4 channel amp.

I got a nice 15" sub that kicks the sh!t outta most stuff that pulls alongside...its one of the kicker comp jobs and the thing about subs is all about the type of music you listen to...i've heard some awful sounding stuff on some quality sub and amps combo's...but it was down to the fact that the music wasn't really suited to the output of the sub or enclosure...

The 10" sub and component set up is good for the house stuff...low throbbing b-lines are suited to the 12 or 15"s imo.  I'm into hip hop so the 15" kicks where others don't...plus if you build the enclosure yourself, you can do the maths to ensure that the sub has an extended throb to it, or build it smaller and go for punchy.

If you have a kicker 4 channel, use that for the components/6x9's and then mono the other amp just for the sub...it'll sound cleanest with the set up you have...don't forget...if the fronts are half decent then you should be able to amp then until you can afford the components. Looks tidy for a first job
