I have white.

I'm told, although I'm not sure it is correct, by a VW salesperson that VW no longer make them in white now.

If this is correct would that make them more exclusive, thus holding their residual better. I dont know.

What do you guys think?

I think it's the Golf models, rather than the GTI that you can't order in white anymore - not sure

Its getting repaired at the moment. No mechanical damage, only bodywork and panels. They ordered the parts yesterday. I was told car will be ready in 4 weeks which means i will pick it up on 3rd August 
Its a long wait.

I've told them to do some extra work for me. I've asked them to come back with a quote for changing the tailgate lights for the R32 smoked ones, colour coding all the bumpers and refurbing all my alloys (2 alloys will be done as part of the insurance work and two i will pay for).
Just waiting to see how much they will charge......

Cass you could be right on the sales bull.

Whilst my car was in for some work I asked a sales person for a part exchange value against the edition 30.

He thought my car in white looked fantastic, and then told me he believes white had been stopped.

                 Newbie here, had my GTI ED 30 in CANDY WHITE for 2 weeks now, getting used to the usual comments of "great car, why get white?" Haven't had a white car since my Pug 205 GTI 1.9 in 1987.
Love looking in my rear mirror to see peoples necks craning to see the car that just drove past them!
