White GTI's look great...but it is a subjective colour.  A lot of people still look down on white cars for whatever reason.  Might make the car harder to sell on in the long run, and a lot of us ( me included ) have bought the car with residuals in mind. If it makes you feel good, go for it.
2007 GTI with a hint of Bluefin.

I get loads of comments on mine, If I pull into the stealers the sales guys come out and have a look, at petrol stations the cashiers say it looks smart. The kids in the street say it's the coolest car ever.
I think there is a general sway towards white, not all cars can carry it off, but if you look at vehicle transporters there certainley seems to be much more white about. I saw a Porsche 911 in white the other day looked awesome.

Guess it's a fashion thing and certainley Apple have helped with the perception of all things white.

More and more manufacturers are showing concept cars in white, saw an advert for a merc the other day in white.

The GTI is a special motor itself, the ED30 makes it more unique, a Candy GTI Ed30 is the icing on the cake.

Re. residuals, stealers will find any excuse to offer bottom book. I'll be looking for private sale to a Golf enthusiast who wants a special motor when I come up up to renew.

I have white.

I'm told, although I'm not sure it is correct, by a VW salesperson that VW no longer make them in white now.

If this is correct would that make them more exclusive, thus holding their residual better. I dont know.

What do you guys think?
