Did the decent thing with the new shoes...
« on: 30 June 2007, 14:18 »
Glad I read the posts on the tyres...
Just been to get some new front tyres, after a mere 7500 miles.
The tyre place had Dunlops on special offer at £98 each fitted etc, but I did the decent thing and had Michelins at a reasonable £130.99 each. Funny how the lads in the workshop were taking it in turns to move the car about (unnecessarily, of course!)

So are michelins the best ones to get if you have the 18" monzas?

You're not wrong... but it's been one of those months; Car tax, excess after accident, car insurance renewal and tyres... it never rains 'till it pours £1100 later!?

Well I reckon so, but this has been based on fast-wearing Continentals and bad press on here about Dunlops.
The Michelins were about £10 dearer than Bridgestones and Continentals... Worth every penny me thinks

Agreed, F1's in my experience have been excellent and are now on the golf, Michelin Pilot Sport 2 are certainly one of the best tyres but are also a higher price (115 fitted versus 147 fitted) from my local tyre outlet.
