My edition 30 is almost here
« on: 20 June 2007, 15:55 »
Just got a call from dealer today saying my car has arrived after 10 weeks of waiting. So i had to go down there to see it in person and finalise payments. Had the chance to sit in it and noticed that my rcd300 unit actually plays MP3s unlike older models, the unit actually has MP3 marked on the unit above the cd slot. Also salesman pointed out the new control stalks on the steering column. Just some fancier markings.
Car was dirty from tree sap, but had to takes some pics anyway. Will pick it up on friday, can't wait. Just need to have the dealer fit cruise and sort out the legal work. Can't wait!

Exhaust looks tiny, need milltek, already ordered shorter aerial and forge quickshift from awesome. Still not delivered after 5 days now! Thinking of replacing the head unit with Poineer satnav with bluetooth and ipod connection in future. Anyone suggest and other aftermarker sat  nav/bluetooth handsfree units out there? Thanks for helping out the newbie.
P.s. i have michelin exaltos, are they any good?
Cheers all.

Looks sweet! Seems to be quite a few Candy White ED30's emerging on this forum now! and Michelins you lucky man, always my tyre of preference, I got conti's - they seem to wear quickly.  Get in line for the Milltek as well

Enjoy your new motor.
I swapped the stock radio for the VW DVD satnav, and really happy with it (Ebay £400)
But more importantly welcome to the Candy club

Thanks for all the praising replys guys. Yeah it seems like there are more and more candy white owners now. Asked my dealer and he has not sold one white GTI let alone and edition 30  Kinda suprising since alot of the promo material has the car in candy white. Nevermind, keeps our cars unique.
I've been toying with the idea to fit a MFD2 myself from Ebay, but then having to fit a BT handsfree aswell and the cost rises close to 5-600 quid. Thought might aswell go aftermarket and get a HU that does the above and much more. Been looking at the Pioneer AVIC-D3BT. Seems to be going for about 900 quid. But it plays alot more media than the standard MFD2. Decisions decisions....

I got mine last week, and there is no MP3 function or writing on mine.  The dealer siad it would have...
Not really that fussed as I'm going to change it anyway - but its irritating at the moment cause my new stereo might be weeks yet!
