clutch cable

how hard is it to adjust the clutch cable ona a mk28v engine?

easy , unless you have a self adjusting type.
there will be an adjustment nut gearbox end if it is adjustable.

That is the self adjusting type, the boot houses the spring that keep the cable under tension. You should have a white strap round it so you can compress it to remove the cable. If you need to change the cable then use the strap off the new cable.

mechanic bloke swapped my auto one for a manual adjustment cable as he reckoned they are much better - just left him to it!

no reason i was asking was not to replace the cable but to see if it was manual adjustment so i could get a bit more bite out of it knowing that its automatic must mean the clutch is at the end of its life as it is starting to slip
