cold air blowing hot

Hi
I have a mk2 Gti 16v 1990. I can only blow hot air through the vents, no matter wheather I have it on hot or cold it comes through boiling! Does any one know how I might be able to solve this problem.
Thanks
Nathan

Sonds like it could be a physical connection has broken that goes from the centre console to the heater matrix. If it's the same as min ('90 gti 8v) if you remove the centre console (see haynes) then trace the wire controls from the dash to the heater matrix.
