I have seen these motor provider people. Are they really any good? What warranty and come backs do ya get?

What happens with resale - is it easy enough?

Got my gti through them.  Leather, dsg, arm rest, cruise... £3K off list.  Delivered to my door (on a low loader) and once I'd inspected it I paid the balance.  The car had not been sitting in a field (like some others) and had just been built so 2 years warranty.  All done over the phone with no problems.

I agree with most of your extras, except the i pod prep i have it and its a waste of money (£ 175) i think. Keep the armrest but put money to an external i pod kit ie halfords. I ended up getting a blaupankt DAB radio becase i wanted 1 DAB, 2 i wanted longwave for test cricket, 3 i pod works through the head unit far better, 4 VW radio in my opinion looks naf.

Regards Rob

I'm waiting for Motorprovider to supply.
The discount is significant nealry £5k on list (£21k for 5dr DSG, Metallic, Leather, Parking Sensors, Highline, Rear Airbags) but I was quoted a 12-14 week wait that has turned into a 22 week wait. I'm told the car will be here end of June.......

You only get 24 months warranty (you can buy the third year from a stealer with your saving) and they will take your old part ex.

Not had the chance to get back to the dealers yet but will report back when I do.

I might give Motorprovider a call too as they do part exchange. The only thing that bothers me is that the car may not be 100% UK spec.  There have been reports of other brokers/supermarkets selling cars advertised as being UK spec but actually not 100% UK spec, e.g. no space saver tyre, no alarm, foreign manual and log book.  And does it matter that the log book could be stamped with the foreign dealers details?

Thanks

Mine was 100% UK spec (actually more as I have 10 speakers). I had them confirm this on the order in writing so there was no dispute should I discoverer something "missing".  The manuals that came with the car were Dutch (the factory will supply manuals to match the ordering dealer) but a set of English ones were posted to me.  I replaced the the front cover of the English service book with that of the Dutch one (the title is English anyway) for the data sticker so the stamp on the inside cover is of a Dutch dealer. Does that matter? Umm - no.

I also sent the details to VW UK to get 12 months VW assist and to make sure the car was registered on the UK dealer network.

Farina, just had a look at Motorproviders website and the prices are nearly £4k cheaper!  It's very tempting indeed!  Theres a 14-16 week wait still though.  I will have to get in touch with them to see how much they will give me for my car.

Cheers!

Repeat my wait will be 22 weeks - assuming it arrives on time

Ordered my GTI through Simpledeal.co.uk Dutch Import and picked it up 3 weeks later with 7 miles on clock ( I am first reg'd keeper on V5 )  and full UK spec, bar English manual which is on order.  18" Monzas , 6CD arm rest , cruise and metallic paint for £18.3 . Done 500 miles in her so far and the car is spot on...no faults. Very happy.
2007 GTI with a hint of Bluefin.

Acwats:  Has Motor Provider given you a reason why the car is being delayed for so long?  Hope it does not get delayed any longer than that for you.

TheReflex:  I assume that you got the car from stock as you only had to wait 3 weeks.  I might get some more options with the savings but this may mean a factory order.  Prices at SimpleDeal are very similar to Motor Provider.

Has anyone else ordered cars from these companies?  If so could you please give a brief summary of how it all went - wait times, delays, customer service etc.

Thanks.

I have ordered mine from Motorprovider, I am still waiting for delivery, been told that it will be PDI'd on the 26th of June and should be ready to go the following week.
I ordered mine on the 20th of Feb. The wait is killing me but there again i have saved 5K.
